In the academic year 2018-2019 a symposium was organized regarding ‘Rabindra Natoker Path’ and Workshop, thanks to the sincere efforts of the Bengali Department. The said programme took place on 11.12.2018 at the Seminar Hall of the College with discussions focusing on the lessons of the literary estimation of the dramas of Tagore, the staging of the same as well as their relevance. Professor Shibabrata Bandyopadhyay of Burdwan University was present as speaker. He discussed at length the role of dialogue in Tagore’s plays, in particular, in Bisarjan, Raktakarabi, Raja O Rani, Dakghar, etc. The presence and involvement of the students during the question answer session was noteworthy. Burdwan Nandanik Gosthi performed the play ‘Dheuer Dighi’ during the second half of the meet. The 2nd Volume of ‘Othoi’, the wall magazine of the Bengali Department was also published formally during that session.
The presence of students and teachers of other Departments as well as other colleges made the session for departmental discussion impeccably vibrant.
