Applications are invited for a position of Project Assistant in a project titled “Development and Validation of
a new measure of Rabindrik values: An Item Response Theory approach”, at the Department of
Psychology, Government General Degree College, Singur, Hooghly, purely on a temporary basis. Interested

Funding Agency: Rabindrik Psychotherapy Research Institute Trust (RPRIT)
Eligibility Criteria: Minimum Masters’s degree (M.A./M.Sc.) in Psychology/Sociology/Anthropology.
Candidates with a degree in Psychology and with field experience will be preferred.
Remuneration: 10,000/- on a monthly basis. Travel expenses will be provided separately.
Job description: Collection of data, data entry in MS-Excel, Review of literature.
Skills required: Basic knowledge of data collection, and knowledge of MS-Excel.
Duration of employment: 6 months

About the project: The project aims to validate the Rabindrik values questionnaire on an adult population. The
objectives of the research project are:
1. To check item properties of a new scale on Rabindrik values extracted from Rabindrasangeet using
Item Response Theory approach.
2. To estimate the reliability and validity estimates of the items of the newly developed scale.
3. To establish the Factorial Validity of the scale using Exploratory Factory Analysis and Confirmatory
Factor Analysis approach.
